Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

Your heart is a muscle that demands the same attention as any other muscle in your body—take care of it, and it will take care of you. Fannin Regional Hospital’s cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program is dedicated to helping patients with a history of cardiac and pulmonary issues get the information, motivation, encouragement and guidance they need to help their hearts—and lifestyles—be healthier.

Fannin Regional’s cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program offers a wide range of services close to home. If you’ve had a recent valve repair or replacement, heart transplant, stenting, angioplasty, open heart surgery, heart attack, angina, or congestive heart failure, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation specialists will work with you to develop a program that works for you.

The program was designed to treat cases of moderate, severe or critical chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We focus on increasing your ability to perform daily activities, giving you a greater sense of well being and decreasing your symptoms over time. Patients must be referred to us by a physician and have a recent pulmonary function test that shows moderate to severe COPD, as defined by Medicare.

We offer a full range of services as well as education to help with the healing process. Education topics include:

  • Exercise training
  • Nutritional counseling
  • COPD management
  • Techniques for conserving energy
  • Breathing techniques
  • Smoking cessation
  • Stress management
